Under the Directorate of Partnerships and Global Relations, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), and through the Grant for Strengthening Academic Internationalization through Joint Supervision 2025 (No. 4159/UN1.P1/Dit-KRG/HM.00.00/2025), our Ph.D. student Outdom Dy undertook a two-week  international research visit with his co-supervisor, Prof. Shakir Ali, at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), India.

During this visit, Dy Outdom actively engaged in academic discussions and collaborative sessions aimed at strengthening the direction and structure of his doctoral research. He held several focused meetings with Prof. Shakir Ali to refine his research topic, objectives, methodology, and to work toward the completion of his first research paper draft. These sessions provided valuable guidance on improving the mathematical framework and research clarity in his ongoing work.

In addition to the supervision meetings, he also interacted closely with Ph.D. students and researchers at AMU, exchanging ideas on algebra,p-adic analysis, and derivation theory. These interactions enriched his academic perspective and broadened his understanding of current developments in his research area.

As part of the academic engagement activities, Dy Outdom delivered a seminar titled “Introduction to p-adic Numbers and Their Derivations”, introducing the foundational theory of p-adic number fields and discussing the role of derivations in p-adic algebra—an essential component of his doctoral research. His talk received positive feedback and sparked further discussion among faculty members and graduate students.

This scholarship program provides invaluable opportunities for UGM students to participate in international collaborative research, gain exposure to diverse academic environments, and build connections with global experts. Dy Outdom’s visit exemplifies the program’s goal of enhancing research capacity, expanding international networks, and supporting students in producing high-quality, internationally recognized research.
