Lecturing Session

The lecture session began with Dr. Pee Choon Toh delivering a lecture on Modular Forms. He started by introducing the modular group Γ and defined the fundamental domain D for Γ. He provided a specific representation of the fundamental domain and discussed the generators of Γ. The lecture continued with an introduction to modular functions, modular forms, and cusp forms. As examples, Dr. Toh presented Ramanujan’s τ function as a cusp form of weight 12 and the Eisenstein series as modular forms of weight k.

SageMath Session

All participants continued their hands-on practice with SageMath, focusing on using the software to find the roots of polynomials and compute derivations. The session also included practical exercises on using SageMath for computations in algebraic number theory, providing participants with applied skills to support their theoretical understanding.

Cycling Activity

The day concluded with a cycling tour around Universitas Gadjah Mada, allowing participants to explore the campus and its surroundings in a relaxed and interactive environment, fostering informal discussions and connections among participants and speakers.
